The poster for You Can’t Take It With You was based off of a graphic that I created when NCRT’s 30th season was announced. I released a series of six banner graphics, each showing a silhouette of a piece of architecture or a distinctive character posing against a sky backdrop. For the poster, this vector illustration was blown up to full size and became the shell for my title logo.
To create the title itself, I used a stock photograph of a printer’s case. I gave each letter in the title a slightly different hue, and when letters were reused I altered any recognizable textures. I specifically chose wood grain for my letter blocks as a way to pair with the sunset to make a warm and comforting color scheme.
